Los Angeles, CA's ABYSMAL DAWN will begin recording the follow-up album to their Relapse debut Programmed To Consume this May at Trench Studio in Corona, CA with John Haddad (PHOBIA, INTRONAUT, HIRAX). The album will be mixed by Erik Rutan (HATE ETERNAL, VITAL REMAINS, CANNIBAL CORPSE) at his Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, FL. A fall release date is expected.

ABYSMAL DAWN's Charles Elliot commented on the upcoming album; “It's always great to work with John Haddad, whom we've worked with on our previous two releases. This time we thought we'd try something a little different though as far as the mix goes. After to speaking to Erik Rutan at great length we know he's the man for the job. He's a living legend and knows how real death metal should sound! Everyone in the band is really excited to be working with him and we know this is going to be our most crushing release yet. We've been hard at work demoing all the material before we enter the studio and things sound amazing already! This will be our catchiest yet most extreme and technical release to date.

We're also happy to be working with our new drummer Scott Fuller (ex-HAVOK, ex-SKITZO, ex-ASHES OF ICONS). Scott comes from more of a thrash background but was born to play death metal and has never had the outlet for that until now. So far it's been a real pleasure to be in a band with someone with the same fire for this music as Mike and I again. A fitting replacement for Terry with even more chops to boot.”

We're back after a crazy 9 weeks on the road with GOATWHORE, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS, DAATH and SUCCESS WILL WRITE APOCALYPSE ACROSS THE SKY! It was the longest tour we ever had the pleasure of being a part of and
we had a fucking blast! We played a lot of places that we'd either never had the pleasure of playing or hadn't played since 2006, and we had a great time bringing the metal to you fuckers. We want to thank all the
people that came out to the shows a tore shit up, drank with us, smoked with us, hung out with us, let us crash at their houses, or were just plan down to earth metal maniacs. You guys made it worth while!

Unfortunately we were sharing backline on the tour with the other bands and both SWWAATS and ABIGAIL WILLIAMS had to go home early. That meant that we were without a drum kit for the rest of the tour, and in
turn the last 8 shows were cancelled because promoters weren't interested in a 1 band tour package. We want to apologize to anyone that was planning on coming those shows to see us and we promise we'll be back soon!

We are currently back at home and we've been busy continuing to write material for the follow up to “Programmed to Consume.” We can tell you already by some of the demos that this is some of the fastest, most
technical, and yet still atmospheric stuff we've ever done. We hope to have a new album for you guys by next Summer at the latest so stay tuned for updates!

We'd like to take this opportunity to thanks Ken Bedene of BLOOD OF CAIN who's been filling in on drums for us for our last two tours. Our former drummer Terry Barajas left last April due to not being able to financially keep up with the harsh touring life style. He's still a good friend of ours and we wish him the best of luck and thank him for
helping to get the band to where it is today. We love you brother!

We are currently auditioning drummers looking to join the band full time who is either in the Los Angeles area or willing to relocate. Los Angeles, CA's ABYSMAL DAWN has announced that they will join the “Conquer & Curse Tour 2009” alongside GOATWHORE and ABIGAIL WILLIAMS. This two-month North American tour will begin on June 19th for ABYSMAL DAWN and also include DAATH and SUCCESS WILL WRITE APOCALYPSE ACROSS THE SKY (S.W.W.A.A.T.S.).

ABYSMAL DAWN's vocalist / guitarist Charles Elliot commented on the tour; “This tour is going to be massive! Almost two months on the road and we can't wait! This will be our first time playing in Canada and we'll get to play a lot of cities we haven't played since our tour will Six Feet Under, Krisiun and Decapitated back in 2006. We haven't played with Goatwhore in a while so it will be good to see them as well. It's a great mix of bands and definitely a package worth seeing!”

Prior to the “Conquer & Curse Tour 2009”, ABYSMAL DAWN will be out as part of the Relapse Records Contamination Tour 2009 for two-weeks in the eastern U.S. This tour includes label-mates OBSCURA and GRAVES
OF VALOR with BRUTAL TRUTH and HERO DESTROYED joining in on select dates.

OBSCURA, GRAVES OF VALOR, and ABYSMAL DAWN will join forces for the 2009 installment of the Relapse Records Contamination Tour.
